It was a nearly full house as the cast of 101 Dalmatians, Kids took to the stage Saturday at the Wichita Theatre.

I know, the movie has been around for a long time and there have been countless productions of the show over the years, but this was actually my first time to see the show. Most people are familiar with the character of Cruella DeVill (played by Addie West), but the rest of the story was new to me. It all revolves around Roger (played by Tanner Cannedy) and Anita (played by Samantha McGee) and their Nanny (played by Jessica Spicer). This happy family is busy raising a litter of Dalmatian puppies when Cruella, their neighbor, decides she needs some articles of clothing made from Dalmatian fur and plots to swipe Roger and Anita's Dalmatians to achieve her fiendish goals. In the process 101 Dalmatians end up in trouble and one cat manages to save the day.

But don't take my word for it, grab the kids and take them to see this all kids production at the Wichita Theatre. Ticket prices are a very affordable $6.00 for everyone and there are three more performances scheduled for Saturday, March 10th at 10:00am, 1:00pm and 4:00pm.

Everyone in the cast does a great job, from the primary characters of Roger, Anita, the Nanny and Cruella on to Cruella's "Nincompoops" and the Poodles, Boxers and Chihuahuas that serve as narrators to help the story line progress. In fact, the Chihuahuas had everyone in the theatre in stitches with their witty lines and fun accents.

The full cast sticks around after the performance to sign autographs and meet the audience. Your kids will love seeing the characters up close, and the performers love meeting their audience.

101 Dalmatians, Kids is directed, choreographed and music directed by Abi Parker and produced by Dwayne Jackson, Lisa Jackson and Lynn Marshall.
